Monsoon in Kerala had finally begun and all the newspapers were flooded with news about monsoon conditions there ! While the entire country celebrates, this surely becomes a subject of worry for the tourists who are all set to visit the state and are already dreaming about strolling in the perfect weather. And then enters the weather apps. These weather apps are like those sadhu babas sitting on the streets who will with all their conviction tell you how you’re going to meet your death very soon and you will fear every moment till you get there.

With fingers crossed, we left for Kochi via Mumbai and were quite bewildered to see how the Mumbai airport is nothing like an ordinary forgettable airport. No, I did not spot any fancy celebrity. While walking through the moving walkways, the walls on the side were decked up with different themes like a gamut of random trinkets stuck together, one wall showing a gallery of glass paintings, and while we waited in the queue for boarding, the side wall had an intriguingly mesmerizing artwork that presented different faces of flights and their roles in peoples’ eyes – both rural and urban 🙂

In the Jet Airways flight, the lunch meal was served although I wasn’t that hungry thanks to too much waiting at the airport leading to overeating. As soon as I opened the foil, it smelled coconut. And I already heard a warm welcome message in my head from South India 😉

We landed at the Kochi airport (still called the Cochin Airport). Small and ordinary from inside, the airport has a typical Kerala style architecture from outside. The hut shaped building with a very hilly touch oozed warmth like that fairy tale house at hill stations I used to read about in books 😀

And then began a journey on the roads that are more curvaceous than Kim Kardashian, to the town that welcomed us with arms of emerald and breath of fresh chilly winds emanating from the mountains as gentle as a dove – the town called Munnar 🙂
