‘Small is beautiful’. This book was written by British economist E. F. Schumacher which was first published in 1973, and it couldn’t be more true. Though it talked about politics and various economic theories, the one thing that this famous title bears a collision with is ‘Mini’ especially when spelled as BMW ‘MINI’.
A word meaning ‘small’, ‘tiny’ and perhaps cute, MINI is beautiful and petite indeed, but it comes with a long journey and a massive history tracing back to 1950s. Mini was designed as a ‘solution’ (Note – Not luxury) to fuel-shortage and to make its place on the trafficked roads of a city, but rumour has it that an engineer even dreamt that there is a small car parked outside the house of every working person, which did eventually come true.
A similar dream also turned into a ‘mini’ reality when Mini Cooper visited Jaipur on a tour across India and displayed its 4 iconic designs in the RGB color palette with a tangy mango along with offering a test drive !! 🙂
