Walking down the wide lanes of the land where one gets lost without chasing a white rabbit and curiously wonders what’s next in store, I suddenly found myself breathing the scent of sugar emanating from a sweet little place at MBK mall in Bangkok, the board said ‘BEAUTY BUFFET’.
The call of sweet tooth turned into a sight of buffet that roared colors, fruits, pies and an inexplicable smell of beauty worn by the hundreds of beauty products – one and all. I still remember the moment my gaze fell on the array of nail paints placed carefully on a shelf below the large purple mirror, and not to sound like a Disney fanatic, it did look like a large cup of magical cookies screaming words like ‘Take me home’ !
And so I did Now my basket full of the Thai brand of Beauty Buffet ‘The Bakery’ collection nail enamels, lies today as one of my most valued possessions . The best part – these shades don’t have any names so one is free to use all the imagination in this freaking world.
While the bubbly colors are a candy for eyes, my soul is drawn to the cryptic grey. It’s one of those guilty pleasures that’s felt while having a secret slice of dessert at midnight – perhaps an Earl Grey Cake ?
This one takes me back to that day on street when I was sucking on the Red Cherry Popsicle like a 3 year old. Not to mention the feeling of relishing the blushing pink shade of red on my lips, hands and tongue
Man, are we playing ‘What’s this’ ? May be, another guilty pleasure. To me, this looks like a giant cake sheathed with layers of soothing turquoise like the layers of flowing gown worn by Elsa – the Frozen princess ? I can’t let it go yet
And now my current favourite – the Greece/Jodhpur Indigo blue. This isn’t the shade of sky blue or the blue of water, but it does have the potential of camouflaging some ripe blueberries
